Earthtrade was delighted to be the major sponsor of The East Coast Biodiversity Offsetting for Mining, Energy and Infrastructure Development conference, held in Brisbane during February 2013. The conference which was organised by Criterion Conferences was deemed by all attending parties to be a great success. The exploration of policy developments and emerging industry approaches in biodiversity offset delivery in both Queensland and New South Wales was a topic of great interest to mining, energy and infrastructure proponents who are currently facing complex biodiversity offset requirements to successfully achieve project approvals. Workshops held on both days covered many key agendas including the challenges of achieving State and local offset approvals and strategic approaches to the EPBC Act Offsets Policy. Earthtrade Managing Director Alan Key and In House Legal Counsel Jade Gesell conducted a workshop covering co-location as an approach to biodiversity offsetting for major project development. Earthtrade and other speakers at the conference have received positive feedback from participants.
